Things to do and see in and around London

given this is a UK board and I'll be heading over to London/other places in Europe thought be silly not to ask for recommendations for a Aussie back packer on a budget

Are you just in London or visiting anywhere else?

I spent about 5 days down in London a few years ago and bought a London Pass which was really good value - of course you have to work to get your money's worth out of it.

I think if it's your first time in London an open top bus tour is ideal, as long as the weather is good.

I wore shorts in September this year, but then I wear shorts at 20 degrees. Layers would be the best option.

Living in London you take the sights for granted so one year for my birthday we did the open air tour bus. This is a really good idea if you want to get an overview of the sights before seeing any in detail. You can walk about a lot and there is a huge tube network. I'd definitely recommend the jump on and off bus tour though.

Open bus tour is a good idea to see things, and get you round if it's a hop on hop off one. Plenty of free stuff on the South Bank to see I think.

I only really go to London for work or to visit family so tend not to venture in too much.

Have a great trip!
